The Question Matters

Strauss and Howe are Smart

In case you haven’t figured out yet, I enjoy scrounging around for wisdom on the pages of the Internet.  It’s a concept called “Shared Wisdom,” and it’s the idea that we are wiser and more discerning when we learn together than we learn separately.  (And of course, that can become shared ignorance fast.  More on that in future posts.)

I’m posting a summary of Strauss and Howe’s book Fourth Turning.  Strauss and Howe are the authors who brought us Bowling Alone, a very thorough look into the inner workings of Generation X.  The article, written by Michael Nystrom, is thoughtful and anything but knee-jerk.  You’ll quickly find out why I like him when you notice the image he’s posted in the top right corner of his blog page.
