The Question Matters

Are You Engaged?

Not that kind of engagement.  Rather, are you engaged at work?  In this case, engagement means that (1) you love what you do when you’re working, and (2) you’re consistently doing what you do best.  It seems that these two elements rarely cross paths.  One person may do their job well, but they derive no joy from it.  Other individuals may have fun at work, but they’re not engaging the best parts of themselves, even if they get a kick out of their job.

You’ve seen people who are both doing what they love to do and doing it better than most anyone else.  To them, work is effortless.  It’s an extension of who they are.  There is synergy between who they are what they do for a living.  Whether you’re an employee, an employer, or a solopreneur, synergy will ooze out of your every pore if you’ll do the hard work needed to employ your talents to their fullest in your workplace.  I’m biased, but I think entrepreneurs have a better chance of achieving this than most.
